Dawn used her recreation grant to get a gym membership at a specialized gym where she could get the attention she needed in an environment that was comfortable and safe. Dawn really cherishes her independence, over the years she has started to feel vulnerable and frustrated with not being able to do things for herself. As Dawn has gotten older she hasn’t felt as strong or confident as she did when she was younger. “The stronger I feel on all fronts, the better able I am to face the physical challenges of CF, and life in general.” Having the gym membership will allow Dawn to get the exercise she needs to manage her CF better.
