Jacob and Michael are twins and used their grant to participate in a summer program at their local YMCA. Michael had been very sick for many years because of his CF and liver complications. He eventually got a liver transplant and is now doing much better. Because of medical expenses and the stress of being in the hospital for so long Jacob and Michael had not been able to participate in things like sports or summer camps. They were looking forward to going to summer camp for the first time and meeting new friends and doing what their peers were doing. They both love to play sports, especially football and couldn’t wait to play it with their friends. They know that staying active and doing their treatments will keep them healthy for a long time.
